A hair removal method that's easy and cheap and hopefully not too painful is bound to be popular given the huge demand in recent years for hair removal on the part of women and now increasingly men as well.
We have to realize humans are complex creatures and everyone has unique and individual characteristics. So what works well on one person when it comes to hair removal may show poor results when used on someone else. Plus of course pain toleration levels vary considerably.
Set out from here on are nine main hair removal methods currently in use. Just take a moment to check them over to make sure there are none on the list you are not aware of that you may want to try.
First we'll look at the two permanent or semi-permanent methods, electrolysis and laser treatment. Electrolysis is regarded as the only true permanent hair removal method as each hair follicle is treated individually and the mechanism for hair growth zapped to disable it.
Laser hair removal is very popular these days and it allows hundreds of hair follicles to be treated at one time. Results can vary a little and it is wise to get a test done first to see how you react to this treatment.
Using a waxing or sugaring preparation is very common and popular. You can easily obtain supplies from the local pharmacy or get a professional to do it at the local beauty salon. Some find it is less painful when others do it!
Pulling hair out by the root can also be done through tweezing or threading. Tweezing is good for the eyebrows as is threading. Make sure you have a good pair of tweezers. Tweezerman is regarded as the best in the business. Or check out if threading is available in your area. People who have emigrated from the Indian sub-continent are usually very skilled at this. It's ideal for facial hair.
Creams are next. Depilatory creams can melt and dissolve the hair. They can be harsh although modern depilatories have ingredients to help the skin. Also hair inhibitors are now available for rubbing in the skin and they can slow down hair growth. Kalo produced by Nisim International was one of the first and is still popular.
Last but not least is shaving. This is easy, convenient, and cheap. The main drawback is that it has to be done so often. For a women of course, this method is unacceptable for facial hair as it can cause stubble.
After reviewing these nine different hair removal methods you probably already have your favorites. However, you may wish to use this article as a checklist and do further research on specific methods. Then make an informed decision on the method or methods you are going to employ to keep on top of unwanted body hair.
