Which Hair Styling Spray To Use?

Many different and varying styles can be created by using the correct tools. Choosing the appropriate hair styling spray for your hair and desired style are essential to creating the most natural looking style, be it a bob haircut, curls or a simple ponytail. Your stylist at the salon will be able to give you some tips on the best products to use, but if you follow the below hints you are closer on the path to creating that freshly done style.
Fixing your style: Hairsprays come in lots of different strengths but if you really want to fix it in place, go for a stronger hold version of the hair styling spray. Holding the can at a minimum of twenty to thirty centimetres away from the hair will help give you a more natural look that will still move naturally.
Creating volume: Creating volume can be achieved in a multitude of ways, from holding your head upside down and spraying a hairspray at the roots only, to using moose. Using moose is very simple, use a small amount whilst blow drying your hair to create lift. Be very careful not to use too much else the hair will dry sticky and lose the natural look that you are trying to create.
Creating texture: The best hair styling spray for creating a texture in your hair is gel. Gel can come in a pump or a finer version in a spray can or bottle. It is fantastic for constructing flicks in your bangs or for a more tousled look. Again, using too much will not look good so use only a teaspoon sized amount to create the most natural style.
To define layers: Wax is a superb product that will help you create volume between the layers of your hair which in turn, will give it a more voluminous and versatile look. Once warmed up, using wax to define curls, a fringe, bangs and twists are just a few of the things that this product is great at. Warm it in your palm to soften the texture of it and make it easier to use.
Smoothing and shine: There are many glossing products on the market, which when evenly sprayed over hair, create a luxurious gloss on your style. This is especially good for smoothing down fly-away or frizzy hair and will help you achieve a more tailored and smooth look.
As with every hair styling spray, no matter what texture, hold or style you are attempting to create, never use too much of the product. To keep a healthy and natural look be sure to only use exactly the amount needed. |
